AMOEBA MODELS

HERE ARE THE AMOEBA STRUCTURES WE ARE CURRENTLY WORKING ON. EACH BUILDING IS DESIGNED AS A MIXED USE RESIDENTIAL COMMUNITY, BUILT TO PROVIDE FOR ITS INHABITANTS. CLICK ON THE MODELS BELOW TO EXPLORE!

This is the Railtown River District. Each tower consists of 80 living units, built above a three storey concrete mixed-use podium. Amoeba Urban Design Lab is currently in the conceptual design phase of this building for the BCIT Civil Engineering Capstone Project
The Unit Cell is the foundational element of the Amoeba Building System. Each cell is an individual living unit. Designers are encouraged to arrange the cells in various stacks and shapes to develop the overall structure of the building. The Unit Cell is constructed using four CLT walls with a single interior CLT bearing wall used to support the CLT floor panels. The single interior wall is used both as a structural element and architectural element—simplifying the interior design and reducing finish materials and the cost for each unit.
